黑料社app Abolition and Decolonial Education Collective

Vision

A 黑料社app rooted in transformative justice, liberatory educational practices, and interconnection that supports students, faculty, staff, and community to have the resources and tools to foster accountability in our day-to-day lives for systemic and interpersonal harms-past and present.

Mission

To collectively imagine, organize, support, and enact abolitionist and decolonial visions of education at 黑料社app through on-campus activism and community-building, political education, pedagogical dialogues, reparative work, and building coalitions among students, faculty, staff, and community-organizers.

Defining terms

  • Abolition is a political vision with the goal of eliminating imprisonment, policing, and surveillance and creating lasting alternatives to punishment and imprisonment鈥 broad strategy... [that requires us] to build models today that can represent how we want to live in the future and develop practical strategies for taking small steps that move us toward making our dreams real and that lead us all to believe that things really could be different. It means living this vision in our daily lives. ()
  • Decolonization is a dramatic reimagining of relationships with land, people and the state. Much of this requires study. It requires conversation. It is a practice; it is an unlearning.鈥

We host abolition/decolonization trainings for Collective participants, public events such as 鈥淎bolition 101,鈥 and other campus/community organizing efforts. We also have a number of break-out groups, focusing on Abolitionist and Decolonial Pedagogy, Student Activism, and Community Organizing.
